Matthew Glasscott, a doctoral student in the Dick Research Group, received a GEAB Impact award from The Graduate School at UNC for his research on per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).

Carolina Chemistry's annual Junior/ Senior Awards Banquet celebrates the achievements and strides made by juniors and seniors in their academic studies and research in the lab.

Three chemistry graduate students were selected among 10 finalists in UNC Chapel Hill's 2020 3MT competition. The Three Minute Thesis (3MT) is an academic competition that assists current graduate students with fostering effective presentation and communication skills.

Each academic year, the Department of Chemistry recognizes outstanding graduate student teaching assistants with a $750 cash award. The awardees were nominated by lab instructors and lab staff and selected by the Undergraduate Labs Committee.

Stewart, along with mentors and colleagues from UNC-Chapel Hill, recently launched Level the Playing Field, an organization intended to create generational change for minority students by providing professional development and access to door-opening internships.

The Celebration of Inventorship was held via webinar on September 10, 2020. The University innovation community convened online to recognize the UNC Inventor of the Year Michael Ramsey and faculty, student and staff inventors from UNC-Chapel Hill who received issued patents during the past year.
