Undergraduate Teaching Assistant

Do you have a passion for chemistry?

Do you want to share the thrill of science with other students?

At various times, we are seeking undergraduates to work as Teaching Assistants in Morehead Labs. Our needs change each semester and summer session.

An undergraduate TA position is considered a ten hour weekly assignment including approximately four hours in lab, one hour of preparation for the experiment and pre-lab lecture, one hour for a TA meeting, one office hour for students to drop in and ask questions, and three hours for grading lab reports, notebooks, quizzes, et cetera. Undergraduate TAs earn a stipend

Most undergraduate TAs are assigned to one of the general chemistry lab courses, CHEM101L or 102L. The TA must complete safety and TA training during a specified training session prior to the beginning of the semester/session.

Undergraduate chemistry TAs are expected to excel in chemistry lectures and labs. Students who have successfully completed through CHEM262L are given preference.

If you are interested in being considered, please complete the application materials.

For any additional questions, please contact Dr. Kathleen Nevins.
