Alex Zhukhovitskiy, assistant professor of chemistry, has been selected as a recipient of 3M’s Non-Tenured Faculty Award. Zhukhovitskiy earned a Ph.D. in chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2016 and carried out postdoctoral studies as a Merck LSRF fellow at UC Berkeley. He joined the faculty at Carolina Chemistry in July 2019.

The award recognizes early-career faculty achievements in the areas of research, experience and academic leadership. Gifted by 3M’s Research and Development Community in partnership with 3Mgives, the award amount is $15,000 per year and renewable for up to three years.

“I am thrilled to be selected as a 3M non-tenured faculty awardee—this award reflects the hard work of my young research group, and I am grateful to 3M for fostering us at this critical stage in the group’s development.”
