2023 – 2024 Service Award Recipients

The Department of Chemistry is pleased to announce the recipients of our service awards. These awards are given to outstanding graduate students and postdocs in recognition of their service.  

Service Award Recipients for 2023 – 2024: 

Charles N. Reilley Memorial Fund: This award is given in honor of Charles N. Reilley, a former UNC Chemistry Professor. 

Ernest L. Eliel Graduate Fund: This award is given in honor of the late, Ernest Eliel, a former UNC Chemistry Professor. 

  • The people’s choice award (nominated ONLY by peers for outstanding mentoring outside “normal job duties). 
  • Service Leadership Award 

Killian Family Graduate Student Excellence Fund: This award is given in honor of the Killian family.  

Professor James Talmage Dobbins Sr. Memorial Fund: This award is given in memory of the late James Talmage Dobbins Sr., a former UNC Chemistry Graduate and Faculty.

Mark Wightman Graduate Student Excellence Fund in Chemistry: This award is given in honor of R. Mark Wightman, a former UNC Chemistry Faculty member.

The Floyd Edmister Fund: This award is given in memory of Floyd Edmister.
