Research Synopsis

My current teaching efforts are centered on bringing evidence-based practice to the undergraduate classroom, especially in large-enrollment courses. To that end, I’ve been involved in curriculum reform of our first-year general chemistry courses, implementing a high-structure active-learning environment designed to help students learn to think critically about problems and work collaboratively to find solutions.

These same themes extend into my upper-level physical chemistry courses. My goals are that students gain what they need in order to achieve their career goals and that they see the relevance of chemistry to daily life.
