We are pleased to share that David Nicewicz, Royce Murray Term Professor of Chemistry, is the recipient of the Arthur C. Cope Scholars Award. Sponsored by the Arthur C. Cope Fund and administered by the American Chemical Society, the award recognizes and encourages excellence in organic chemistry.
Nicewicz joined the faculty at Carolina in 2009. He earned a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2006. The Nicewicz Group’s research focuses on the use of organic photoredox catalysis for the invention of new chemical reactivity and applications of these new transformations to natural product synthesis.
