Alex Miller wins Laboratory Safety Institute Graduate Research Faculty Safety Award

October 3, 2022 | By UNC-Chapel Hill Chemistry Communication

We are excited to announce that Dr. Alex Miller has been awarded the ACS Laboratory Safety Institute Graduate Research Faculty Safety Award. This award is given to recognize graduate-level academic research faculty who demonstrate outstanding commitment to chemical health and safety in their laboratories.  This is only the third year that the award has been given.  Dr. Miller has long been focused on lab safety for students and faculty.  For example, in conjunction with Dr. Ian Tonks from the University of Minnesota, Dr. Miller developed The Safety Net, a comprehensive resource on lab safety that has been used and referenced in labs all around the country.  We congratulate Dr. Miller for all his hard work on this topic and are pleased that he is being recognized for his efforts.
