ACS selects UNC Chemistry to join the ACS Bridge Program

November 16, 2022 | UNC-Chapel Hill Chemistry Communication

We are pleased to share that UNC Chemistry has been selected to join the American Chemical Society Bridge Program as a partner department. The ACS Bridge Program is a concerted effort minority-serving and doctoral-granting institutions to provide support for underrepresented students seeking doctoral degrees. The Program also seeks to establish links between these communities through research activities, collaboration, and personal interactions. The overarching goal of ACS-BP is to increase the number of chemical science PhDs awarded to students who may not have had an opportunity to pursue such a degree otherwise, using this scaffolding of support for these students during their studies.

We are excited to join with the 43 other chemistry departments that comprise the Program, which was started in 2018.  To learn more about the program or to become a bigger part of it, please visit the ACS Bridge Program website.  Applications for students to join this upcoming year open on December 15th.
