2023 – 2024 Teaching Award Recipients

The Department of Chemistry is pleased to announce the recipients of our teaching awards. These awards are given to outstanding graduate students in recognition for their teaching.  

Teaching Award Recipients for 2023 – 2024: 

Edward and Carol Smithwick Graduate Student Fund in Chemistry: This award is in honor of Edward and Carol Smithwick.  

Professor James Talmage Dobbins Sr. Memorial Fund: This awards is given in memory of the late James Talmage Dobbins Sr., a former UNC Chemistry Graduate and Faculty.  

Mark Wightman Graduate Student Excellence Fund in Chemistry: Details. This award is in honor of R. Mark Wightman, a former UNC Chemistry Faculty member. 

Ralph Walton Bost Fellowship: This award is given in honor of the late Ralph Walton Bost, a former UNC Chemistry Professor. 

Hiskey Fellowship: This award is given in memory of the late Richard Hiskey, former chair of the UNC Chemistry Department. 

Sanford Steelman Fund: This award is given in memory of the late Standford L. Steelman.
