UNC Chemistry Students Receive NSF Fellowships and Recognition for Research

Three students in the department of chemistry at the University of North at Chapel Hill were awarded fellowships by the National Science Foundation’s Graduate Research Fellowship Program this spring.

The prestigious and competitive fellowship program recognizes outstanding students in NSF-supported science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) disciplines who are pursuing research-based master’s and doctoral degrees at accredited U.S. institutions.

The purpose of the NSF fellowship program is to help ensure the quality, vitality and diversity of the scientific and engineering workforce of the United States. The five-year fellowship offers three years of financial support, including an annual stipend of $37,000.  

This year’s recipients, as well as those earning honorable mentions, are:
