February 27, 2024 | By UNC-Chapel Hill Chemistry Communication

We are pleased to announce that 10 chemistry undergraduates have been selected for induction into the Phi Beta Kappa Society chapter at UNC-Chapel Hill. The Phi Beta Kappa Society was established in December of 1776 and is the nation’s oldest and most prestigious academic honor society. The honor society recognizes exceptional liberal arts and sciences undergraduates. According to the society’s website, only 10% of colleges and universities have Phi Beta Kappa Society chapters and, out of those chapters, only 10% of the arts and sciences majors are invited to join the honor society.

Among the society’s inductees are 17 U.S. Presidents, 42 Supreme Court Justices and more than 150 Nobel Laureates. We are pleased to announce the following individuals who will join the society’s impressive membership body:

  • Joshua Daniel Bourque
  • Eleanor Ann Breiner
  • Evelyn Danielle Concepcion
  • Claire Connor Evans
  • Cameron Faith Grant
  • Megan Elizabeth Hnilica
  • Dylan Ting-Yuan Hsu
  • Steven Michael Nuzzolo
  • Elizabeth Gail Seith
  • Rebecca Lynn Turner
