Research Interests

Protein Biophysics Emphasizing Studies in Living Cells


Research Synopsis

My graduate students and I work in two areas: High-resolution protein NMR studies in living cells. Biophysics of tardigrade dessication-tolerance proteins.

Gary Pielak has received a Distinguished Scholar Fellowship from the Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program that will fund a four-month research residency in Israel.

 

Two scientists at UNC-Chapel Hill, Gary Pielak and Brian Kuhlman, have received a $1 million Science and Engineering Research Award from the W.M. Keck Foundation to study AI-designed proteins.
